The James Hogan Time Travel Audio Book

Mr. James Hogan, M.A. is the author of multiple books which have been used for the classes he taught. We plan to create professional audio recordings of the books that Mr. Hogan authored starting with Time Travel: At the Speed of Christ's Light: A Journey through Catholic History and Theology and professionally edit them for use in both audio book format as well as for broadcast over Catholic radio. Mr. Hogan will add his personal commentary.

Time Travel offers a journey into the past of the Catholic Church in order to learn theological lessons in the present. It is part-history, part-theology, part-apologetics, and part biography. Time Travel faces head-on some of the more controversial moments within Catholic history and tells their story from the inside out. Just as stained-glass windows look more beautiful from the inside, so does the Church. Catholic history is seeing the scenes depicted in the windows at the speed of Light - Christ's light.

Mr. Dick Russ long-time Cleveland television personality who currently works both with Catholic Radio in Cleveland as well as EWTN has volunteered his professional expertise to assist in this project to ensure we develop a professional quality product that will be useful to as wide an audience as possible.

Smooth Stone Foundation, which was founded by a grateful former student of Mr. Hogan, will assist in the distribution of the audio recording to provide the engaging content and dynamic style of Mr. Hogan to listeners around the country and beyond. As the Smooth Stone Foundation is a registered 501 (c)(3) charitable organization, your contribution to this project is tax-deductible.

Production costs for the project will be controlled to enable us to  directly compensate Mr. Hogan for his work on this project helping him to support his family in Cleveland.

The minimum amount needed to complete the Time Travel project development and rollout will be $12,500. We would like to raise $50,000 to do additional projects with Mr Hogan to preserve more of his teaching. Additional projects may include: An Audio or Video recording of his teaching from his book “Cross Training: An Introduction to Catholic Theology” which presents all of the content from the Catechism of the Catholic church that is most critical for youth to know and understand in an informative yet often humorous question and answer format.

Please give generously so that we can preserve all of his teaching content in the most engaging and entertaining way possible.

Mr. Jim Hogan, St. Ignatius High School theology teacher for over 30 years, is no longer in the classroom. But he has much more to give. Help us preserve his dynamic teaching style and content for generations to come. Mr. James Hogan, M.A. has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support, love and gratitude expressed to him by countless former theology students and their parents. For more than 30 years Mr. Hogan taught tens of thousands of high school students from the greater Cleveland area. He is loved for his passionate defense of all the truths of the Catholic faith delivered with dynamic clarity, quick wit, and memorable humor. One former student’s sentiments represent the feelings of countless others: Joe Soltis ’01 said,“Mr. Hogan was very important to my spiritual education and development as a teen. I had hoped that my 4 sons would be able to learn from him as well. There are few teachers who have the ability to engage the intellect and move the heart of teenagers the way Mr. Hogan can. I was blessed to go to a Catholic school with an amazing Theology department. I want the same for my boys.” For the first time in over 30 years Mr. Hogan is not in the classroom this school year. However, Mr. Hogan has more to give and we don’t want to miss this opportunity. Will you help us preserve his teaching for generations to come?
